Webinar: Resources and Best Practices for Conducting a Private Health Sector Assessment (Recording)

This webinar was held on December 3, 2020.

Private health sector assessments (PSAs) help USAID missions and local stakeholders devise strategies, make decisions, and design programs that will maximize private sector contributions to health by providing key data on the size, scope, and activities of the private sector. Based on its experience conducting over 30 PSAs, SHOPS Plus has developed Assessment to Action, an online tool to walk users through the process. The tool covers the basics – what are the main questions to answer? what data sources are available to answer them? who are the key informants to interview and what should you ask? how do you analyze and use the data collected? – needed to successfully complete an assessment. During this webinar, SHOPS Plus introduced Assessment to Action, discussed the main findings gleaned from over a decade of implementing PSAs, showcased how the process has worked in practice from assessment to successful program design and implementation, and discussed how the process can be adapted to respond to the COVID-19 pandemic.
