The Power of Public-Private Partnerships: Saving Children's Lives in Ghana

The SHOPS program in Ghana aimed to expand access to and ensure a sustained supply of quality, affordable ORS and zinc through private sector channels. It accomplished this by working with the government to establish local manufacturing, instituting supportive supervision, and generating demand for the new protocol for diarrhea treatment among caregivers and providers. The results show that the partnership model was successful.
