About Susan Mitchell

Susan Mitchell is the Project Director for the SHOPS Plus project. She has more than 25 years of experience in the design, implementation, management, and evaluation of private health sector programs. She has led complex global health projects and manages large teams implementing interventions in multiple health areas, including family planning and reproductive health, HIV, and maternal and child health. Mitchell has extensive technical expertise in private sector partnerships and health financing.

Her senior management positions include: SHOPS Plus, SHOPS, Social Marketing Plus for Diarrheal Disease Control (POUZN), Commercial Market Strategies, and PROFIT.  In addition, she served as a consultant on leveraging the private sector to improve public health outcomes to USAID, UNFPA, and the Asian Development Bank.  Mitchell has an MBA from New York University Stern School of Business and a BA in social studies from Hampshire College.
