About Nelson Gitonga

Dr. Nelson Gitonga serves as the Public-Private Partnerships Advisor on the SHOPS Plus project representing IHA. He is the founder and CEO of Insight Health Advisors, a health systems management advisory firm based in Nairobi, Kenya. He has experience in private health sector engagement, mobilization, program evaluation and design, and public-private partnerships to address service delivery and health systems gaps. He also has a strong background in demand side health care financing spanning both public and private health insurance programs. Gitonga holds an MBChB from the University of Nairobi, postgraduate diplomas in health systems management from the University of London, Galilee International Management Institute in Israel, and National Insurance Academy in India.
